Search For Killers Of 4 Uniport Students, Lets Join The Train To Get Justice

Even as men of the Rivers State police command begin a manhunt of the mob that beat four male students: Ugonna, Lloyd, Tekana and Chidiaka of the University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) on Friday morning and later set them ablaze, after putting car tyres on their necks, for allegedly stealing mobile phones and laptops, I want to enjoin everyone of you, lovers of Justice and Nigerian Youths with a conscience to join the fight to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly and barbaric act to justice.

It is enough offense that the students allegedly committed a crime against the laws of the land but it is an even heinous crime that without the benefit of a proper investigation by the law enforcement agents and possible trial in a court of competent jurisdiction, certain Nigerians usurped the place of the law by assuming the role of jury, judge and executioner.

Where is our CONSCIENCE? Is torture followed by gruesome death in the hands of a few mob now the punishment for sundry crimes or even grievious ones? The same politicians that r*pe us blindly by cornering our commowealth for themselves, cronies, allies and generations unborn still roam our streets free, receive national awards, get bestowed with chieftaincy titles, awarded honorary degrees and still flaunt their ill-gotten wealth in our face, what have we done with them? Have we ever raised our fingers against them? We hail them when they drive by, carry placards in their support when they are ever presented for trial in the courts and even fight off security agents who attempt to arrest them for what? A few crumbs of bread and wine that will not make our lives any better?
Why must dog eat dog in our case? Why should even more guilty people who enjoy the temporary privilege of not yet been found out be the first to cast the stone in matters of this nature? This MADNESS of taking laws into our hands at the slightest opportunity must stop! We’re not animals and neither do we live in the stone age of barbarism and savageness.
According to Linda Ikeji, two of the alleged robbers were even cousins. Ugonna and IIyod. Both of them were upcoming rappers. Big L was the winner of a popular Rap Contest show on SilverbirdTV PH called ‘Turb Show’.

Therefore, I’m appealing to you all, lets raise our voice and join our hands together as we demand#justiceforaluu4.  We the youths of this country should demand that the River State Government look into this matter and arrest everyone in that video whose face is recognizable. No one individual or group possesses the right to take the life of another under any circumstance. A scapegoat must be made of this unfortunate incident so as to serve a future deterrent. It is the ‘Aluu4′ today, it could be me tomorrow, it could be you, it could be someone close to us. Where do you stand?
Lets show the rest of the world that we are not a bunch of savages nor are we a lawless people. Let’s join the campaign to get #justiceforaluu4! Enough is Enough!
